Addressing death in a book for such young kids can seem daunting, but Naseem has tackled it head on, conveying the mix of emotions that accompany the loss of a loved one and what the process of grieving is all about. These stories are about how to remember someone after their gone, and how to keep those memories close. In "The Cake," Otis and Peanut discover that there's always a good reason to eat cake -- even if it's for no reason at all. In "The Dream," Peanut is missing his sister, Pearl, but finds a way to keep her memory close. In "The Collection," Otis and Peanut celebrate old memories and make some new ones.
