Grandfather helped build D&RG railroad in 1890. His father worked at Red Mountain as switch operator. He also worked at Vance Junction and Camp Bird Mine. Thomas and his family moved to Telluride in 1913 and his father began working for Liberty Bell as an electrician. He recalls the influenza epidemic. Thomas worked as a bus boy at the Sheridan Hotel. Describes school strike the students organized in the winter of 1920-1921.
