Gusty's father worked at Liberty Bell and Smuggler. He was 2 years old, when father died. His mother started a boarding house on Pacific and eventually remarried. Gusty worked at Telluride Transfer and later Telluride Mines. Explains difference between Swede Finns and Finns. Lola's family owned Pilcher's Meat Market on Main Street. Her father also owned dairy outside of town. He butchered beef in building on Slaughter House Hill (Lawson Hill). Gusty and Lola owned S&S Cafe. Gusty played in a band called Foot Warmers and also the Harmonizers. Other topics include public saunas; Swede-Finn traditions; "red light district"; operetta.
