Description
Albina was born in Austria and moved to Telluride with her mother and father, who both died when she was young. Albina cooked at the boarding house at Tomboy Mine. She also ran the San Juan Hotel. Later she cooked for the Roma Cafe and baked bread for the San Juan Hotel and grocery stores. Social life consisted of dances held mostly at the Finn Hall and Swede-Finn Hall. She talks about gunfights she saw at the Tomboy Mine and Silver Bell Saloon. Other topics mentioned include: the fire department, miners skiing in Ophir, Silver Bell Mine, Carbinero Mine, the hospitals and clothing stores.
