"A 1924 Rodeo at McCoy. George Bird of Yampa is the rider. The other men on horses are Andrew Henry and Charley McCoy. At that time the entire area east of the hotel and where the school buildings now are was a vacant tract and well suited for rodeos, etc." -- McCoy Memoirs p.35

"The Pershing Fair and Rodeo held on Conger Mesa in the fall of 1916 and 1917 was intended to be an annual event until World War One interrupted the plan, so it was only held those two years. "This picture was taken about 1900. While en route from Wolcott to Steamboat Springs, the stagecoach passed through Yampa, Colorado, and stopped there allowing the passengers to watch a 4th of July rodeo celebration that was in progress. The stagecoach route was established when the D&RG railroad reached Wolcott in the year 1887." -- The Gates Genealogy
No details or dates have been provided, although this appears to be a rodeo of some sort near the fairgrounds. Cars line the fenceline with people sitting on the front. An entrance/exit is visible on the left side of the photograph. A group of men on horses stand in the back of the circle.
