1913: Minturn roundhouse crash showing Rio Grande engine 513. Minturn as the division point between Glenwood Springs and Salida became an important service stop for the railroad. Onlookers posed in front of the engine which is partially ejected through the roundhouse. Water tank in left background.

Dotsero Drug Company building, no longer in existence. The building was left after the railroad boom and was used as a house for many years. Kenny Schultz was an occupant. Automobiles and a truck are parked by the building. The photo was printed April 2, 1933.
The Flynn men on Christmas day 1917 at Kent. Railroad track is at right foreground. Inscription reads: "Flynn & Co." William R. Flynn died in 1905 so the older gentleman is not he.

At the bottom of the Eagle River Canyon below Gilman, Belden is situated on the railroad. Ore was loaded on train cars here. The surface tram ran from Gilman down to Belden. The debris from the downpour covers the railroad tracks at midfield. The water was 8 ft. deep between the compressor house and the loading tipple during the cloudburst.

Engine No. 211 dead On Marshall Pass, February 21-24, 1899. Marshall Pass, elevation 10,842 ft., in between Salida and Gunnison, Colorado. This was part of Denver & Rio Grande's narrow gauge from Denver to Salt Lake City, 1881-1955.
