Bob (Robert) Haddow is the driver of the cart. He was returning from delivering lumber when he saw his daughter and her friends and offered them a ride.
The view is to the east just north of Bates between Elati and Delaware. The three children in the front with the dog are Irma, Mary Grace and Earl Baudy. The other two children are unidentified.
This photo shows the planting of the first trees, as well as the construction of some of the tent cottages at Swedish Hospital.
