"This house, located on the south side of the Colorado River is presently the property of a Denver attorney, John Comer. Ski tow warming house located across from the tow on the Whittaker Ranch. It was built at the same time the ski tow was put in. Gordon Whittaker had it built; Purley Bertrock may have been the actual builder. The original roof was flatter.

"The Pershing Fair and Rodeo held on Conger Mesa in the fall of 1916 and 1917 was intended to be an annual event until World War One interrupted the plan, so it was only held those two years.
