"An early day log dwelling a little similar to the Wohler house, but built by Tom Elliott on his Mother's homestead. Besides the Elliott family who lived here over twenty years, succeeding occupants were the Grays, Grohs, Grimes, Kaysers and Holts.
The dirt roof building on the extreme left was the original building and the rest were additions. The logs in this building and many other in the vicinity are as sound today as in the day they were cut...

Deconstruction of the Nogal-Ping hotel and cabins in Eagle by Claude DeGraw began in 2010. Nogal's Hotel, built in 1892, was later purchased by the O. A. Ping family in 1923. It was occupied by siblings Leonard and Garnet Ping most recently. Leonard died in 1988 and Garnet moved to Gypsum in the late 1990s, passing away in 2003. It stands at the corner...

"They went into the Army from Eagle County. The Bratton Family lived at Taponas in Routt County, but Ed and Frank Bratton were working in Eagle County when they enlisted. As a result, they were not listed in the published book of Routt County WWI veterans." [According to Gertrude Bratton Wilson]
