Thomas J. Skerritt, the first permanent resident of the Englewood area, filed on a homestead south of Little Dry Creek in 1864. Dunn's Grocery Store was located at Quincy and Broadway. The Dunns lived behind the store.
Englewood's first post office was in Dunn's Grocery Store at 4295-4297 S Broadway. The store was located in the front part of the family home. Mrs. Dunn was appointed postmaster in 1984 and served until her death in 1916. (from Englewood, Colorado 1903-1978)
